At Solo, we strive to reuse and recycle as many of our materials as possible. Unfortunately, in the construction industry today, there is so much waste with materials being thrown into skips and landfills. The Construction industry as a whole is responsible for some of the country’s biggest carbon emissions. At Solo this really troubled us and we wanted to work out a way in which we could individually reduce our footprint. We started by seeing if there was a way of reusing old materials on new jobs in the hope of becoming eco-friendlier and generally more economical. We are pleased to say it worked well and we have been re-purposing materials wherever possible for the last few years. This is beneficial for the customer as it means they can get their design/vision at a cheaper cost and create less of a carbon footprint. Our director when drawing up an initial design will always take this into account and suggest re-using materials where possible.
